6 questions
Do I actually own the hardware?
Yes. You pay a one-time price and the equipment is yours on delivery. There is no lease, no financing term, no buyback clause, and nothing that turns it into a paperweight if you stop being a customer.
What does "unlocked" mean in practice?
You get administrator access to the machine. You can install other software, wipe it, or repurpose it. The peripherals are standard devices on standard ports, and we have no remote kill switch.
Am I locked into your payment processing?
No. Payments run on Stripe at Stripe published rates, and on the Unlocked path you can connect your own processor instead. If you do, we take nothing.
Is there a contract or a monthly minimum?
No term contract and no monthly minimum. On Managed there is no platform fee at all. On Unlocked we charge 0.25% + 10¢ only on payments routed through our Stripe platform.
What happens if a terminal dies during service?
On Managed you call us and we handle it, including the manufacturer warranty claim. On Unlocked the manufacturer warranty is passed through to you and you deal with the manufacturer directly, because there is no support included on that path.
Can I bring the POS software I already use?
On the Unlocked path, yes. That is what it is for. We publish the hardware specs and interfaces, and what you build or install on it is your responsibility.

We come to you, so we only take on so many.
We install on site, train your staff in person, and answer the phone ourselves. That only works close to home, so we take on a small number of restaurants at a time and reach out directly.
