Unlocked is a list of facts, not a feature.
Every line on this page is either true about the machine after you pay for it, or it is not printed here. That includes the parts you will not like.
What you get.

- Administrator access to the machine
- You get the credentials. You install, remove, and configure whatever you want. There is no vendor account standing between you and the terminal you paid for.
- Standard ports and standard peripherals
- USB, Ethernet, and the ordinary peripheral protocols. The cash drawer, printers, and card reader are commodity devices, not parts keyed to one company.
- No remote kill switch
- We cannot brick the hardware, throttle it, or lock you out of it after the sale. Nothing on the machine phones home for permission to run.
- Your processor, your choice
- Route payments through our Stripe platform or connect your own processor. The hardware does not care, and neither do we.
- Your data stays yours
- Menus, sales history, and customer records export in open formats on request. Leaving does not cost you your own numbers.
- No term contract
- There is nothing to cancel. You bought the equipment; there is no agreement holding you to a monthly minimum or a renewal date.
What you do not get.
Printed as plainly as the rest
- No software, and no help writing it
- The machine ships without VisibleSeed POS on it. We do not build, review, certify, or debug whatever you put there.
- No setup and no training
- No menu build, no data migration, no staff session. You are provisioning it yourself.
- No uptime commitment
- There is no service level agreement, no response time, and no availability guarantee, because there is no service running.
- No liability for your operation
- Lost sales, corrupted data, failed transactions, chargebacks, a breach, a bad night. If it came from your software or your configuration, it is yours.
The hardware is sold as is, with the manufacturer warranty passed through and nothing else. If you want a system that works on Monday with someone to call on Friday, that is Managed, and it is the honest answer for most restaurants.
The one thing we charge
after the sale.
0.25% + 10¢ per transaction, and only on payments routed through our Stripe platform. Route them somewhere else and we take nothing at all.
There is no monthly minimum, no terminal fee, no statement fee, and no exit fee. This tier includes no software and no support, so a share of processing is the only thing that makes it worth offering. That is the whole reason it exists, said out loud.

Who this is actually for.
Operators and small groups who already have software, or intend to write it.
If nobody on your team is going to own the software, pick Managed. We would rather tell you that now than sell you a machine you cannot switch on.
Currently onboarding a limited number of local businesses.
We come to you, so we only take on so many.
We install on site, train your staff in person, and answer the phone ourselves. That only works close to home, so we take on a small number of restaurants at a time and reach out directly.
